The Montecristo tubos, a long cigar which I thought may take two hours to enjoy but lasted 1hr 30mins. I was surprised the cigar seemed to burn quite quickly at first but then slowed from the middle to the end. The cigar had a nice free-flowing draw from cold and throughout, it had a bitter taste through the first 2/3 but a nice aroma. Unfortunately the cigar was blown off my table in our garden by a gust of wind on an otherwise beautiful day 26°, it needed re-lighting as the fall to the floor seem to knock the ash off and take the fire with it. It needed to be re-lit again before the final third which annoyed me as I would prefer to like the cigar once at the beginning. During the smoke it seemed to be going out which dulled my enjoyment as I felt I needed to take more regular puffs than I would otherwise have wanted to. I have a natural period of time I like between draws and this issue made me rush it so I didn’t have to relight it – I won’t be having this cigar again it’s not worth the price paid I suppose I can’t enjoy every cigar I buy.

575. Montecristo Tubos Vintage 2007 2020-12-06/ ANDREDIAS95 From my own collection. Location: This review was made indoors in Mellgrens Fine Tobacco’s cigar lounge. Information: Wrapper: Cuba Binder: Cuba Filler: Cuba Bought in a small games shop in 2019 with a humidor with some of these MAR 07 cigars laying in a box. Size: 6.2×42, Coronas Grandes (Long Corona). Wrapper: Milk chocolate, smooth with tiny veins. Construction: Fairly firm and even when lightly squeezed. Cold draw: Cedarwood. 1st third: Starts with a red pepper spice, cedarwood, walnuts and figs. 2nd third: No changes from part 1. Burn: Burns sharp with a firm and stable whiteish ash. Smoke: Voluminous smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw. 3rd third: No changes, just well balanced flavours. Duration: 20:45-21:45, 1h. Conclusion: A medium bodied cigar with a medium strength profile. Result: In my book this is an 91 point cigar. /Cigar Reviewer André
